Privacy policy

This privacy policy covers the Scaricarr app for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, and this website with the guide to the app. It follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and German law.

In short: the developer collects no data. The app sends nothing to the developer, shows no ads and does not track you. What you do in the app goes only to your household's Scaricarr server.

The app

No data collection by the developer

The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking, and no third-party services. The developer runs no server for the app and receives no data from it, not even crash reports or usage statistics.

What the app keeps on your device

The app remembers the address of your Scaricarr server and that you are signed in, so you don't have to sign in every time. This stays on your device and is never sent to the developer. When you sign out or delete the app, it is gone.

What the app sends, and where

The app connects only to the Scaricarr server whose address you enter, and to its sign-in page. Your sign-in, your searches and the titles you add, request, replace or remove go there.

That server is not run by the developer but by you or someone in your household. Whoever runs it is responsible for the data on it. Contact them if you want data on the server deleted.

Apple services

You download the app from Apple's App Store. If you use Siri or Shortcuts to add a title, Apple processes your request. Apple's privacy policy applies to that. The developer receives no data from it.

This website

Visiting the website

When you open this website, your browser sends data that is technically needed to deliver it, such as your IP address, the date and time, the page requested and your browser type. This data is used only to deliver the page to you. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is being able to provide the website. The web server keeps no access logs.

No cookies, no tracking, no third-party content

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking, and loads nothing from other servers, not even fonts. The search on this website runs entirely in your browser. Your choice of light or dark mode is stored only in your browser.

Your rights

Where the developer processes personal data about you, the GDPR gives you the right to

  • access (Art. 15),
  • rectification (Art. 16),
  • erasure (Art. 17),
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18),
  • data portability (Art. 20) and
  • object to processing (Art. 21).

To use these rights, write to hello@jeffrey-boehm.de.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the one where you live.

Changes

If the app or this website changes how it handles data, this privacy policy will be updated.
