How Scaricarr works

One library for the whole household

Scaricarr is run by someone in your household. Everyone signs in with their own account and shares one library. When you add a movie or series, Scaricarr gets it, and once it is present everyone can watch it at home.

The app shows the same library as Scaricarr in the browser. What you add in the app shows up in the browser, and the other way round.

Your titles and everyone's titles

Every title remembers who added it. In the library and on a title's page you see you, a name, another user or no owner for titles that were there before anyone added them through Scaricarr.

That's why the library starts with Only mine: your own titles are the ones you're most likely to look for. Switch to Everything to see the whole library.

Who may change what

Anyone can look at the whole library and add new titles. Changes that delete something are only offered to people who may make them, usually whoever added the title and the administrators of your household's Scaricarr. That covers:

  • removing a title or a season,
  • getting a different copy,
  • Get new seasons automatically.

If you don't see one of these buttons, you may not make that change. Ask the person who added the title, or an administrator. Your role is shown on the Me tab.

Requested is not the same as present

Adding a title or requesting a season tells Scaricarr that you want it. It may take a while to arrive, or it may not be out yet. The status tells you where it stands, so you don't need to check anywhere else.

A different copy

Sometimes a movie or episode arrives, but something is wrong with it: the wrong language, poor picture or it won't play. Get a different copy throws the copy away, makes sure Scaricarr doesn't pick the same one again, and starts a new search. This works for a movie or for a single episode, never for a whole season at once.
